Work for us

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest, to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

Ormiston, where every member of staff enjoys…

  • A supportive environment to grow your career – an extensive professional development programme, alongside flexible working arrangements and generous benefits
  • The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive
  • Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve
  • Being part of a team and community where you belong – being part of a well-resourced and ambitious network of experts and professionals that work at the heart of communities

Brownhills Ormiston Academy is proud to work in partnership to ensure every young person makes a success of their education. We work cohesively with the wider community, staff, students, governors, families, local businesses and charities.

We want to recruit the very best staff and our staff are experienced, talented and dedicated. The values of the academy are exceptionally important to us and underpin our work and interactions.

Ready- Ready to learn and to thrive

Respect – Respect for ourselves and others in all we say and do

Safe – Safe in our choices and actions for a happy and caring community

Brownhills Ormiston Academy is part of the Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT). OAT is one of the largest non-for-profit multi-academy trusts in England. Any staff joining this academy chain must believe passionately that every child should be given a chance to thrive. This was the belief our founder, Peter Murray. With schools located across a diverse range of communities, joining the OAT family means embracing a community that values collaboration, professional growth, and the pursuit of excellence. OAT strive to provide an exceptional working environment where all our staff can thrive and make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils.

Brownhills Ormiston Academy is a happy, supportive and caring place to be. We understand the demands of the education industry and enable a sensible approach to workload, and a calm and respectful environment through our Workload and Wellbeing Charter. We have been awarded the Sandwell Well-being Charter Mark for showing commitment to creating a school that promotes the well-being of pupils, staff and parents.

We are proud of our training and staff development, and we offer excellent CPD opportunities for staff at all levels.

We invite all prospective new staff members to visit us, or we are happy to arrange a call or video call with the Principal to introduce you to all that Brownhills Ormiston Academy has to offer.
