Student Absence And Term Time Leave

If your child is absent from school for any reason, it is important that their absence is reported to school as early as possible, but no later than 9.30am, otherwise a truancy call message with be sent to you. Absences should be reported on the attendance line which is extension 205 and a message can also be left if you make the call before 8am. Please remind your child that if they miss registration, for any reason, they must sign in at Student Services to avoid a truancy call being sent to you.

We require parents to observe the term times of the academy. The academy will only authorise leave of absence during term time in exceptional circumstances. If the academy grants a leave request, we will determine the length of time that the student can be away from the academy. We do not have the discretion to authorise holidays during term time.
Any requests for leave during term time will be considered on an individual basis.
If term time leave is not granted, taking a student out of the academy will be recorded as an unauthorised absence and may attract sanctions such as a penalty notice.
