Mental Health and wellbeing

In this section, you will find a range of resources and services that will help you look after your emotional health and wellbeing, and where you can go to get support if you need. The academy’s Mental Health Lead is Mrs Chaplin.

MHST

The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is a service providing short term support in and around schools and educational settings for low level mental health needs including individual, group and parenting work. The aim of the service is to offer early intervention to young people and their families.

Parents can speak to the pastoral support team at the academy to enquire about referrals to this team.

CAMHS Walsall CAMHS is a specialist mental health service commissioned to provide interventions to those children, young people and their families who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. They currently support young people up to the age of 18 with a GP registered in the Walsall area.

School Nursing Team

The School Nursing Team offer a range of support for children under 19 ensuring that children’s health needs are met. The team offers advice and support about a range of issues including emotional health and well-being, healthy weight and exercise and relationships and sexual health.
