Welcoming Our New Year 7s

Welcoming Our New Year 7s – A Successful Start at Brownhills Ormiston Academy

Over the past few weeks, Brownhills Ormiston Academy has proudly hosted two successful transition days, giving our incoming Year 7 students a warm and supportive introduction to secondary school life.

These days were filled with engaging activities, opportunities to meet new classmates and staff, and a chance to explore the academy. We’re delighted to share that our new students left feeling confident, excited, and ready to begin their journey with us in September.

We were also thrilled to welcome new members to our staff team. Mr Queensborough, who will be joining us as Head of Year 8, along with new form tutors Mr Windsor, Mr Bartlam, Miss Chapman, and Miss Mills all have already made a fantastic impression. Their enthusiasm and dedication are a great addition to our academy.

Mr R T Doodson, the academy’s new Principal said, “It was a pleasure to welcome our new Year 7 students to BOA. They made a fantastic impression on our team and we know that the Class of 2030 will go from strength to strength. I am clear that students only have one chance at their education and we all have a duty to make it count. We certainly saw that in action at Brownhills last week’.

In the lead-up to transition, our staff have been visiting primary schools and hosting on-site meetings with parents and carers. These efforts are part of our commitment to building strong, positive relationships from day one. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one parent commenting, “I wish all schools did this.”

To our new Year 7s: we are so excited to welcome you to Brownhills Ormiston Academy. You belong here, and we can’t wait to see where your academic journey takes you.
